I was looking through my blog for previous reviews of 5 Vegas cigars, and I am sad to say that this is my first one. The 5 Vegas “A” Series cigars are some of my very most favorite, ranking in my Top 5 favorite cigars of all. It really surprises me that I haven’t written about them before.
I picked up a 5-pack of these Relics from Joe Cigar about a month ago. I had never heard of this vitola but since it was 5 Vegas, I was very interested in trying it.
This cigar was my 2nd to smoke in the 5-pack. It started spicy like the previous one and mellowed somewhat after a while, but it remained spicy during the whole smoke. It had plenty of smoke, but it didn’t stay lit very well towards the end, I had to relight it several times before I finally put it down. The burn was also uneven, I had to relight it a couple of times on 1 side only to try to even it up. And I wasn’t smoking it very fast, which could contribute to it going out, but I only put it down for 5-10 minutes at a time, which I have done with many other cigars without an issue. Other than the spice, I also tasted small hints of a creamy flavor. It is an interesting smoke, but not nearly as good as the “A” Series cigars that I love so much from 5 Vegas.
I’ll smoke the rest of the 5-pack I bought, but I won’t be jumping at the next sale I see on this particular stick.
