Yes, the much-anticipated Anejos arrived in-town last week. I bought several of these bad-boys at a couple of shops around town and I smoked a No.50 at the poker game last week. I can see what all the fuss is about now.
The Reserva No. 50 - Length: 5 1/4″ x Ring: 50 is a maduro wrapper and probably the smoothest cigar I have ever smoked. No really, I mean it this time. This cigar started smooth with full-flavored Fuente Maduro taste and was even the entire time. I smoked it down to the very nub and it started to burn by fingers before the smoke ever got hot. It was an incredibly enjoyable smoke, tightly wrapped, even burning with a good draw and plenty of smoke. I rate this at an A+, it really doesn’t get much better than this.

During our weekly poker game I often smoke 1 or 2 cigars, and since I have been wanting to try this cigar for a long time so I bought one this week before the game.
This cigar was an extremely excellent smoke. You wouldn’t expect a cigar so long, measuring 8.5×52, to be hot at all and it wasn’t. However at the same time you would think that the draw might be a bit tough, but it wasn’t. It burned smooth, even, cool and had a very easy draw, especially for it’s size.
I lit it around 7pm and when the game ended shortly after 10pm it will still going, having about 3-4 inches left to burn. It was just about the perfect size and length for a 3-4 hours game. Next time I will probably light it about 30-60 minutes earlier.
Most places are getting $7.50-$8.50 for this cigar, but I found a place here locally that sells them for $6 flat. A GREAT price for this long-lasting bad boy.
Once again, Fuente makes a good cigar that I completely enjoyed and I believe that I actually liked this one better than the Flor Fina 858 which has been my previous, to date. I rate it at a solid A.

Wow, i had forgotten how good this cigar was. It had been a few years since I smoked one before today. I wanted a quick smoke and it’s little brother would have been best, the regular sized Chateau, but I didn’t have one, so I lit up this bad boy. The flavor was extraordinary, definitely one of Fuente’s best smokes. The Cameroon wrapper made for a mild taste, so I look forward to trying the Maduro next time. The Chateau is one of my top 5 with a score of “A”

I smoked this 6×50 cigar in Florida last weekend at the recommendation of the shop owner where we were. I wished that I remember the name of it and I would link it to this post. It was a nice sports-bar type atmosphere, with a good sized walk-in humidor and a good selection of cigars. Their prices were fair, not the best I have ever seen, but not the highest either.
I smoked this Fuente torpedo right after buying it, for a smooth, even-burning taste and temperature. I didn’t really think there was anything special about the flavor, it was simply a good smoke, as Fuentes usually are. It bunred nicely, slowly and evenly and lasted a good 30-45 minutes, the perfect amount of time to enjoy a yuengling beer along with it.
I would rate this cigar as a solid B.

I have to start with my first post about the 858. The reason that I must do this is that, to date, this is my favorite cigar. I generally smoke the natural wrapper, 47×6; but recently I have found a maduro wrapper in the same cigar. Perhaps I have had a maduro before, but I honestly can’t remember.
The first time I smoked this masterpiece was about 4 years ago, and frankly it was while I was driving on a 2-hour road trip to my deer lease. It was the smoothest, most savoring flavor of cigar I had ever experienced and I couldn’t wait to purchase and smoke another. The smoke flavor was unlike a “smokey” cigar and more like a unique flavoring, but it wasn’t anything like Vanilla or something cheap. It is really hard to describe, honestly. I just know that I loved it.
Since then I have smoked several, but somehow none of them have been quite as good as that first one, although they are still tasty. A. Fuente, with all their different makes, is always a good smoke. Not fabulous, but very good. The 8-5-8- takes the cake, to date.
